Shane LemMon
Shane LemMon, a Southern California native, developed his passion for fishing at an early age, learning the ropes of trout fishing with his uncle and spending countless days at the local lake with family and friends. Over the years, his love for the sport evolved into competitive kayak fishing, where he has built an impressive track record. Shane secured a KBF Trail event win in 2021 and has claimed multiple local tournament victories. In 2020, he qualified for the inaugural Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship at Clear Lake, competing in Texas for the title. His passion for the sport has also taken him to Alabama twice to compete in national events at Lake Guntersville. Whether on his home waters or traveling across the country, Shane is always pushing his limits in the kayak fishing world. We spoke with Shane about his kayak’s power system & why he recently decided to upgrade it.

Shane's Bonafide Kayak PWR129 is outfitted with two 12V 80Ah RB80 lithium batteries, delivering reliable power for his setup. One battery runs his electronics, including two Lowrance Eagle 9 units—one featuring Eagle Eye live sonar—while the other powers his Motorguide Xi3 bow-mounted kayak motor, ensuring smooth and efficient navigation on the water.
Why Shane switched to lithium:
“When I first got into kayaking, I used lead-acid batteries, but their weight and limited durability made it hard to cover the water I wanted. Switching to lithium significantly reduced the weight of my kayak, making me much more efficient on the water.”
